A sign it was meant to be...
My lovely friend passed away in January this year, she left me 3 rings, I spoke to Kate about repurposing them to make one ring. I’d admired Kate’s style of jewellery for a long time she took one look at the rings and knew exactly what we could do with them! She sent me a picture of what it could look like it was perfect and I loved it immediately!
Jump forward 6 weeks and the ring was ready ….. my ring is absolutely perfect and I love it, it’s such a lovely way to honour a very special lady. Kate told me that usually she has to add some gold when repurposing or there may be a little left over, with my ring there was exactly the right amount!!!! Definitely a sign it was meant to be.

Beautiful, comfortable and quality personified
My wife Lorraine wanted to buy me an eternity ring for my 60th birthday. I searched for unusual eternity rings and Kate's site popped up. I was intrigued and drawn to her designs.
The Dune collection was the one for me. We made our purchase on the Friday evening and asked if the ring could be ready by the 21st of November.
I immediately received a message from Kate's team that she would be in contact after the weekend. Kate was prompt and assured us it would be ready. A week and a half later my ring was delivered. What a joy to receive it.

"After spending hours, no days, looking at loads of different engagement rings I found Kate's website and immediately loved her style. I emailed her and was super impressed by the speed in which she came back to me.

"Earlier this year my wife and I were blessed with our third child and soon after I decided I wanted to honour and thank her for carrying and caring for our children. I also wanted it to be a surprise for her.
I knew of Kate Smith Jewellery design from a mutual friend as my wife had often admired the items the friend wore that Kate had designed and made.
From this I contacted Kate with a very wide and vague requirement and from that Kate helped to guide my thinking. We agreed to meet, at the workshop in secret, I also roped in the mutual friend to bring a female perspective and hopefully help inform what my wife may like.
We managed to arrange a date to visit the workshop and spent an hour or so discussing what my options might be and how we would progress, after this meeting I had an idea of the design but there were some concerns about colours and style.
Kate provided some options, images and mock-ups of what the finished product may look like along with some guideline prices.
From this we had several telephone and email conversations to finalise the design. Kate was very collaborative and able to advise on what would work and what wouldn't, giving me the confidence to go ahead with the design and get Kate started on the manufacturing.
Throughout this process I had stressed that this was to be a surprise and we discussed the best way to present this, in the end I wanted to try and get my wife to the jewellery quarter to surprise her in Kate's workshop.
The day of our trip arrived and we ‘bumped into’ Kate in a cafe. As I said at the start we are aware of Kate and my wife recognised her and said hello to her. After a chat Kate proceeded to invite us to the workshop to take a look. We then surprised my wife with the ring, leaving her totally speechless. Kate was instrumental in the successful execution of this deception.
While we are thrilled with the rings and they are very beautiful, for me the process of getting to the finished product was also very important, and the whole journey with Kate was a joy. I would recommend her to anyone looking for something unique, personal and created with great care and attention. Whether this is for someone else or you are buying something for yourself I would recommend having a chat with Kate and looking at her website.
